Meet the Team: Yakubu Adetunji – Senior Security Supervisor at MFT

Yakubu Adetunji is the Senior Security Supervisor at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). From the security control room, Yakubu leads a dedicated team of 12 supervisors, ensuring the safety of staff, patients and visitors across the trust. Leading a High-Performing Team

Yakubu organises work schedules, assigns tasks and monitors attendance to ensure full site coverage. Furthermore, he conducts regular briefings to keep his team informed about protocols, incidents and expectations. Consequently, this ensures that the team consistently meets GSTS’s high standards. His commitment to excellence and detail-oriented leadership have been instrumental in maintaining trust and efficiency.

Responding to Challenges

In his day-to-day role, Yakubu oversees security operations to ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures. In addition, he responds swiftly to incidents, guides his team during emergencies and reviews incident logs to identify trends. As a result, this proactive approach helps prevent future risks and improves overall security. Yakubu’s ability to remain calm under pressure ensures smooth operations even during high-stress situations.

Ensuring Compliance and Collaboration

Yakubu conducts regular SIA spot checks, enforces equipment assessments and ensures body-worn cameras are used effectively. Moreover, as the primary contact for client inquiries, he works closely with HR, management and other departments to address security concerns and maintain smooth operations.

Training for Excellence
