GSTS Excellence Awards – Manchester Royal Infirmary officers honoured

GSTS officers Samuel Gini and Bamidele Olanrewaju have been honoured with Excellence Awards for their outstanding performance at Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI).

Samuel responded with speed and compassion when a distressed patient began self-harming. Acting calmly and professionally, he helped to ensure the safety of the patient and everyone nearby. Bamidele worked alongside a Sodexo team member to help bring a vulnerable person to safety at Hathersage Car Park. He remained calm under pressure and prevented serious harm through quick thinking and teamwork.

Their actions represent the very best of healthcare security – a balance of care, control and professionalism. These awards recognise their commitment to protecting people in high-pressure situations, often under emotional and physical strain.

Aldin Gracankic, GSTS Operations Manager, presented the awards and said,

“It’s with great pleasure I had the opportunity to issue Samuel and Bamidele with Excellence Awards. Both officers really embody everything we do across the MFT contract – well done to both of them!”

The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust contract remains one of GSTS’s largest and most complex partnerships. Officers work closely with NHS colleagues across emergency, mental health and inpatient departments. These awards also reflect the strength of that collaboration.
