GSTS is proud to have received the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award. The award recognises our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community, including reservists, veterans and military families. Above all, it reflects how closely our values sit alongside the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages organisations to show real, visible support for Defence. It runs across three tiers, from Bronze through to Gold. To reach Silver, an employer must do more than sign a pledge. As a result, the award marks genuine action rather than a box ticked. It also confirms that GSTS treats those who serve, or have served, with fairness, respect and opportunity.

Reaching Silver is no small step. Employers need to show that the Armed Forces community is not disadvantaged in recruitment and that serving personnel and reservists receive active support. For a business in the security sector, those values feel especially close to home.

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

At GSTS, we understand the skills, experience and discipline that Armed Forces personnel bring to the security sector. Because of this, we work hard to build an inclusive and supportive environment. This means veterans and reservists can thrive here, while employees with ongoing military commitments get the backing they need. In short, we want service to be an asset in someone’s career, never an obstacle.

We are grateful to everyone across the team who helped us reach this point. Their support for colleagues with a military background runs through how we recruit, train and look after our people every day.

Silver status reflects the positive steps we have already taken. However, we see it as a milestone rather than a destination. Going forward, we will keep strengthening our support, raising awareness across the business and encouraging other employers to back the Armed Forces community too.

Proudly supporting those who serve.
