GSTS is proud to announce that two team members have now qualified as in-house trainers. Their successful sign-off follows an intensive programme delivered in partnership with Sherwood Training.

This achievement builds on our commitment to raising standards in healthcare security. GSTS was the first private security company to deliver certified training under the Bild Association of Certified Training (ACT) and Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) framework. As a result, we’ve seen a measurable reduction in restrictive physical interventions and a greater emphasis on verbal de-escalation. These outcomes were shared at the NAHS Conference and continue to guide our approach.

Our newly qualified trainers, Supervisor Barry and Officer Rob, completed their assessments under the guidance of Sherwood’s Ben and Rachel. Kim, our Business Co-ordinator, also played a key role in supporting their journey.

Delivering training internally allows us to focus on real-world challenges and site-specific risks. This is especially important in high-pressure settings like healthcare – including Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) – where officers need to respond quickly, safely and with confidence.

We invest in training because it works. Through practical sessions, clear frameworks and ongoing support, we’re helping our teams improve outcomes for both patients and staff.

We’re proud to be growing our in-house training team and continuing to raise standards across healthcare security.
