Welcome back Andy Thompson – our new Quality & Risk Management Specialist

We’re pleased to welcome back Andy Thompson to GSTS, taking up a key role as our new Quality & Risk Management Specialist. Andy previously worked with us between 2017 and 2019, and now returns with even more experience, expertise and energy.

Andy’s background includes operational military service, 17 years in the police (serving in both Kent and Merseyside), and senior security management roles in the private sector. His specialisms include road freight crime, investigations, loss prevention and risk management – particularly in logistics, transport, healthcare and nuclear sectors.

He has led large-scale operations for organisations such as TNT Express/FedEx and Unipart Group, developing strategic approaches to preventing cargo theft, protecting high-value supply chains and liaising effectively with law enforcement.

In his new role at GSTS, Andy will lead on:

• Specialist investigations across client contracts

• Risk mitigation strategies, especially in logistics

• Security intelligence and trend analysis

• Supporting quality and compliance frameworks

Andy brings decades of practical experience to the role, combined with a clear commitment to protecting people, property and reputation. He will work closely with our operational leadership team to support excellence across all our services.

I re-join GSTS at a very exciting time. The company has progressed so much over the last few years and the fact it is now a trusted security partner for the NHS is testament to the professionalism, integrity and positivity of the business and its people.

These values align perfectly to my own, making it a perfect fit for me at this time of my career. I believe my knowledge and experience in logistics and transport risk management as well as my specialist investigation skills will bring yet greater value and diversity to an already exceptional security service.
